DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was heading to perform at Radio City Music Hall on Friday, June 26, when New York City Sheriff's deputies took him in. There was a warrant out for his arrest, TMZ reports.

The rapper ended up missing his appearance at Friday's Masters of Ceremony concert, which featured acts like Shabba Ranks, Rakim and Mase.

DMX has a long history of trouble with the law. In April, he was accused of robbing a man at a New Jersey gas station. The rapper's lawyer called the allegation "completely absurd."

DMX's other past arrests have ranged from drug charges to animal cruelty.
