Kanye West isn’t taking any rest. Not yet anyway. But he’d love some. The superstar rapper called in to Hot 97 for a chat with Nessa about his energy levels, his forthcoming album release, Swish, and the latest addition to his empire -- his second child. And true to form, he did most of the talking.

“I’m just living my life,” he said. “I’m having a good time, I’m with my family, and I’m getting the opportunity to create, work on my clothes, work on my films, work on DONDA, work on the next album, work on it slowly, make it an art project, deliver the innovation I know and that I’ve consistently done since 808s and "Dark Fantasy". I’m in my own zone. I can’t walk around trying to defend myself and chime in on everything.”

Kanye West & Kim Kardashian's Relationship: A Timeline

It seems Kanye's been on a non-stop promotion ride this year in support of Swish. Don’t expect him to get off that ride anytime soon. Swish isn't a slam-dunk just yet; he hasn’t finished work on it, and he’s not giving up its release date.

“I really want to go away. I’ve been doing a lot of features and everything. Right now, I just want to take some time to really focus on my album, focus on this next collection, and focus on North’s birthday. Just focus on my family and then be able to recharge, energize, and then bring something of value. I’m completely boring actually. All I do is go to the studio every day. I’m riding through the ‘burbs with no woes. I’m not going nowhere with no wos. I’m not at the club… I’m never gonna be nowhere.”

Kanye West Settles Lawsuit Over 'Bound 2' Sample

Kanye and his partner Kim Kardashian announced recently that they’re expecting a second child. But when Nessa asked the gender of his new addition, he wasn’t sharing. “Not on this conversation.”

The rapper also dismissed the rumor he’d kicked folks out of a Chuck E. Cheese joint for his daughter North West’s 2nd birthday, and talked of his close connections with the current NBA Finals series. “I’m good friends with LeBron [James]. I would like to be really great friends with Steph [Curry]. I think he would be an awesome Yeezy athlete… The world would love to see Steph in some Yeezys.”  Listen to the full interview below.
