The Lonesome Trio

Twenty years after first meeting in college, the Lonesome Trio are set to release their self-titled debut album on June 16. Even if you haven't been listening to their bluegrass-folk-country for that long, there's a good chance you've seen 'em at music festivals over the last few years. They kinda stand out -- they're the band with The Office/The Hangover actor Ed Helms on banjo.

Ahead of the release of their debut, Billboard is exclusively premiering the music video for "Appalachia Apologia," which features Helms and bandmates Ian Riggs and Jacob Tilove.

Ed Helms on How Fellow Comedian/Banjo Player Steve Martin Inspires Him

"A loping waltz in the tradition of great old Western trail songs, this tune laments a once titillating relationship whose rose has lost its bloom and the inevitable immaturity with which we all handle these situations," Helms tells Billboard. "Because of the song's pedigree, we felt we should shoot this video in an old fur trapper’s cabin, which of course we found in an art installation in South Central Los Angeles."
