Vanessa Williams has scheduled a four-night stand on Broadway that will precede a brief U.S. holiday-themed tour. The limited New York engagement will run Dec. 1-4 at the Palace Theatre, which until last month was home to Disney's production of "Elton John & Tim Rice's Aida."

"Of all the opportunities and experiences I've been fortunate enough to have in my career, I've always felt most at home on stage. It will always be my first love and, as a native New Yorker, any time I can return to Broadway is another dream come true," says Williams, who has appeared in Broadway productions of "Into the Woods" and "Kiss of the Spider Woman."

"This show will be special," she adds, "because it not only includes the hits people know and love, but I get to kick off my favorite time of the year with some of the most beautiful holiday songs ever written."

The production will find Williams performing songs from her recently released collection of holiday music, "Silver & Gold" (Lava), as well as selections from throughout her career.

Tickets for the Palace engagement are priced $35-$120 and go on sale Nov. 7 via Ticketmaster.

Beyond Broadway, Williams a single show confirmed in Baltimore (Dec. 11), followed by five concerts throughout Florida beginning Dec. 14 in Jacksonville. At deadline it was unknown if any more will be added.

In other news, Williams is among a group of entertainers who have recorded "Election Protection" radio public service announcements. The spots urge African-Americans to vote in the Nov. 2 U.S. presidential election and to report instances of intimidation or suppression at the polls.

Artists for a New South Africa and People for the American Way Foundation produced the ads, which also feature comedian Chris Rock and actors Samuel L. Jackson, Danny Glover and Alfre Woodard, among others.
