The always-opinionated Noel Gallagher stopped by The Late Late Show with James Corden on Monday night (June 1). And while there, host Corden had the former Oasis rocker weigh in on some of his recent comments regarding Zayn Malik's departure from One Direction.

"I can't understand why he would do it because they've only got, at most, five years left," he said before reierating some of his prior, um, sentiments about Zayn's personal life from that aforementioned magazine interview.

Gallagher is a bit of an expert in the matter of band's parting ways considering that he's been pretty adamant about not wanting to get back together with Oasis anytime soon. And recalled that band's own split back in 2009.

"It was in a festival in Paris," he said. "As I left the band, I was walking out of the dressing room and somebody came in and said '10 minutes to stage time.' And that was it. And we left a load of French people very very upset in a field."

And, yes, there "were proper fistfights backstage" at times, he also noted. "Yeah, yeah yeah it was great. It was pretty even towards the end. I did leave on a high though."

In addition to sitting on the couch, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds also took the stage for a performance of "Lock All the Doors," which you can watch below.
