Taylor Swift attends the Keds and Taylor Swift 1989 Style Event at Canoe Studios on May 27, 2015 in New York City.

First she was named godmother to pal Jamie King's second child, and now Taylor Swift is prepping for another role. The singer is knee-deep in maid of honor duties for her BFF Britany Maack's upcoming wedding.

And the gig marks a first for the 25-year-old chart topper. "I've never been a maid of honor before. This is my first time, and it's really, really important to me because this is my best friend, who I've known since I was born. And she's marrying someone I've known since I was 4," she told People. Swift was first recruited for the role back in February (as was evidenced on Instagram) and knew that when it came time for Maack to pick out her dress, Reem Acra would be the designer.

"Reem does the most amazing bridal designs, and Britany and I were looking through Vogue, and she pointed to this one gown, and I was like, 'I wonder if we could go to the showroom…'" she shared. So after she called them up, the twosome headed to the store to do some shopping. "And sure enough, it was the best day ever. It was so amazing."

So why Reem Acra? She explained, "Because that's one of her (and my) favorite designers."
