Metallica has had its fair share of good (Master of Puppets), bad (Re-Load) and ugly (St. Anger) moments. A new mashup doing the rounds sits somewhere in the middle of the Metallica spectrum.

For reasons unknown, a fan with more spare time than you has replaced the snare from the metal legends’ "Master of Puppets" with the one from "St Anger."

Yes, the snare that sounded like Lars Ulrich was beating an empty ice-cream tub with a dog’s bone. The one that was recorded when the veteran group was going through an epic meltdown that was captured for the 2004 documentary Some Kind of Monster.

The mashup was posted by data_dreams 2000, who explained “I was bored, so I replaced all the snare hits with the St. Anger snaredrum. You're welcome.”

The result, well, it’s not as ugly as all that. Listen to the “Master of Puppets (St Anger version)” below.
