“There simply is no better man, then good old David Letterman.” So says Adam Sandler, who said his goodbye to the retiring late night talk-show legend with a song. Though not everything Sandler sang escaped the censors.

Sandler name-checked Julia Roberts, former rival Jay Leno and successor Stephen Colbert, Letterman’s iconic 10 ten list, and there was a creepy mention of his own mother. The Happy Gilmore actor also shared his pessimistic view of outgoing CBS Orchestra band leader Paul Shaffer’s future job prospects, and he made a lurid suggestion for how the two Jimmies (Fallon and Kimmel) might show their gratitude to the late night boss. “You’re the King of comedy, our best friend on TV,” an emotional Sandler sang.
