Watch Martin Short Perform a Funeral Song for David Letterman

David Letterman is going out, but he’s not going down. Tell that to Martin Short. The comic actor was a guest on The Late Show, where he serenaded the soon-to-retire talk-show legend with a dark ditty.

“I’ve had this number prepared from some time,” Short told his host and the audience. “To be honest, I wrote it for your funeral.”

David Letterman Reveals Final Musical Guests 

Short unleashed a performance filled with gallows humor and blasts from the past. For his big finale, the actor bellowed "farewell, we’ll meet again, someday in hell” as a sign lit up the stage with the unfortunate phrase, “Rest in Peace, Dave!". Check out the clip below.
