Sam Smith has had to cancel more tour dates after suffering a hemorrhage to his vocal cords.

He initially canceled several dates in Australia last week and confirmed that dates in the Philippines and Japan are also canceled. He confirmed the news on Instagram on May 4. The dates were scheduled for May 7 and May 8 in Japan and May 10 in the Philippines. He added that he will head to the states to seek treatment.

"Very upset about Japan and Manilla dates," he wrote. "I've just left Australia and I'm on my way to the states to see a specialist to see what to do from there... This is fucking horrid."

His next gig is slated for May 15 in Alabama at the Hangout Festival, followed by a performance in Las Vegas at the Rock in Rio event on May 16 before resuming his tour.

Last Friday (May 1), Smith took to Instagram to update his fans on his condition, noting that he hadn't "spoken a word in three days."
