Break out the tissues.

Zayn Malik is once again making headlines. This time the former One Direction singer has sparked the Twitter trend "#YouWillAlwaysBeZaynMalik1D" after fans noticed that he removed that 1D from his Twitter handle.

He is now just known "@ZaynMalik" shortening it from "@ZaynMalik1D."

Malik also removed references to the group from his Twitter bio. The bio used to include a link to One Direction's website. The move comes after he announced his exit from 1D back in March.

But that wasn't all. Malik also tweeted out a rather philosophical message that we're sure his fans are dissecting in the wake of the social media move. "Is speech an extension to our thoughts or an image that we like to create x."

No word on what exactly Zayn was trying to tell everyone with that deep thought, but the change didn't go unnoticed by fans who immediately took to social media to vent about the decision.
