It's official!

Jon Stewart's last-ever Daily Show episode is slated for Aug. 6. Stewart made the announcement during the last few moments of the show on Monday (Apr. 20).

"I will be wearing a suit, I will more than likely be showered," he told the audience who seemed pretty sad to hear the news. However he ended on a joke that perked up the room, "I'm sorry. I'll be wearing overalls and I won't shower. So I hope that you will join us for that program."

The confirmation comes after Stewart spoke to the Guardian about his exit from the series and why he chose now to walk away. And you can blame the upcoming 2016 election for Stewart's decision.

"I'd covered an election four times, and it didn't appear that there was going to be anything wildly different about this one," Stewart said. "I also felt that, for the show, you don't want to leave when the cupboard's bare. So I think it's a better introduction when you have something providing you with assisted fuel, like a presidential campaign. But really, the value of this show is so much deeper than my contribution."

Current Daily Show correspondent Trevor Noah has been tapped to replace Stewart. A date for his start has yet to be announced.
