David Letterman on "The Late Show with David Letterman" on Oct. 13, 2014 on the CBS Television Network.

Starting Monday night (April 13), there are only 28 more broadcasts of The Late Show With David Letterman to go before the late-night mainstay ends his 33-year reign.

CBS unveiled part of the lineup for his final run of shows, and it features some of the biggest names in Hollywood -- George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Hanks, Tina Fey and Will Ferrell -- as well as some substantial names in music.

Mumford & Sons, Elvis Costello, Dave Matthews Band, Tom Waits, The Avett Brothers and Brandi Carlile, and Norah Jones will perform on Letterman before it ends forever.

Also scheduled: Emmylou Harris, Ralph Stanley and Amos LeeIron & Wine and Ben Bridwell, Tracy Chapman, Chris Stapleton and Asleep at the Wheel.

The press release promises more special guests will be announced. My prediction? Bette Midler stops by for a heartfelt, emotional musical sendoff.
