Kanye West, Common, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jeremy Piven have all been named as potential stars in Chiraq, Spike Lee's upcoming project for Amazon, according to a report from The Wrap. West and Common are both from Chicago, the presumed subject and setting for the film (though no plot details have been confirmed).

The moniker "Chiraq" (featured in the song of the same name by Chicago's own Lil Durk) is based on the city's recent history of heightened gun violence.

West has been looking to get into more film projects (he's reportedly involved in the Zoolander sequel), while Common is looking for another follow-up to his successful turn (musically and dramatically) in the Oscar-winning drama Selma.

Representatives for West and Common did not respond to requests for comment.
