When Furious 7 hit theaters last weekend, it had a whopping opening weekend.

The film earned a $143.6 million debut at the North American box office alone, as well as $240.4 million debut overseas, totaling $384 million. Now one of the film's stars, Ludacris, is opening up about how he thinks his late co-star Paul Walker would have felt about all that love.

"He is definitely smiling down and feeling great!" Luda told E! News, adding that he thinks the film's performance has something to do with "The Paul Walker Effect."

"There is no way better to leave his legacy than like a movie like this," he continued. "The reviews and everyone that has seen it loves it, and it's not only the movie as a whole they are just loving the way we said goodbye to him."

Earlier this week, hot on the heels of the film's massive debut, Wiz Khalifa and collaborator Charlie Puth released the video for the Furious 7 track "See You Again." The video pays homage to Walker, who died in a car accident in 2013.
