Joni Mitchell Getting 'Stronger Each Day,' Remains Hospitalized

Canadian folk icon Joni Mitchell is getting "stronger each day" after being rushed to the hospital in late March, according to an update on her official website.

"Joni remains under observation in the hospital and is resting comfortably," the April 3 statement on JoniMitchell.com reads. "We are encouraged by her progress and she continues to improve and get stronger each day."

Mitchell, 71, was rushed to the hospital on March 31 after being found unconscious in her Los Angeles home. She was reportedly alert on the way to the hospital.

"Joni has been hospitalized. We are awaiting official word on her condition and will post it here as soon as we know," her website first told fans on Tuesday.

Mitchell has long suffered from a little-understood condition called Morgellons disease.
