Sara Bareilles' musical based on the film Waitress, a play co-written and starring Mark Rylance and a stage adaptation of Eve Ensler's In the Body of the World are among the highlights of the American Repertory Theater's upcoming season.

The powerhouse theater company at Harvard said Thursday it will produce the world premiere of Waitress, with music and lyrics by Grammy-nominated Bareilles, starting in August. It will be directed by Diane Paulus, the artistic director, who has also helmed the recent revival of Pippin and the new Finding Neverland.
