Joni Mitchell was hospitalized Tuesday, following a 911 call from her home.

The singer-songwriter's website, JoniMitchell.com, confirmed the news late Tuesday night. "Joni has been hospitalized," a post on her website read. "We are awaiting official word on her condition and will post it here as soon as we know."

"Joni is currently in intensive care in an LA area hospital but is awake and in good spirits," a second post added. "More updates to come as we hear them."

TMZ reports that paramedics went to Mitchell's Los Angeles home around 2:30 p.m., responding to a call for an unconscious female. The site states the iconic 71-year-old singer-songwriter was alert on the way to the hospital, though.
