Brian Wilson Explains Scrapped Frank Ocean, Lana Del Rey Collabs

For anyone wondering why Brian Wilson didn't include his collaborations with Lana Del Rey and Frank Ocean on his forthcoming solo release, he is now opening up about why they were omitted.

Del Rey and Ocean has reportedly hit the studio with Wilson last summer. However they are no where to be found on the track list. "Well, Frank Ocean didn't want to do the song. He wanted to do rap, so we canceled him," he told Vulture. "Lana Del Rey, uh, she just canceled out on us."

Wilson's qualms with Ocean's request should come as a bit of a surprise since he has actually dabbled in rap back in 1989 on the track, "Smart Girls."

You can give it a listen below.

Wilson's 11th solo album, No Pier Pressure, is due April 7 on Capitol Records.
