During an appearance on her mother's, Sharon Osbourne, talk show, The Talk, Kelly spoke about her departure from the show.

"It was the five best working years of my life. I'm so grateful for the experience," she said on the Mar. 10 episode. Her exit comes in the wake of a controversy surrounding comments her former co-host Giuliana Rancic made about Zendaya's Oscars look during which she sported dreadlocks. Rancic she said the actress/singer looked like she smelled of "patchouli or weed." Rancic has since apologized.
