The upcoming soundtrack for the documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck will not only offer insights into the late Nirvana frontman's life, but its soundtrack will also feature an unreleased track from Cobain.

The film's director, Brett Morgen, shared the news on Twitter. "Listening to a mind blowing 12 minute acoustic Cobain unheard track that will be heard on the montage of heck soundtrack," he wrote on social media. It was originally reported by Loudwire.

The film will premiere May 4 on HBO. Billboard spoke to Morgen earlier this year about the upcoming release, which he worked on over a span of eight years.

"It's as intimate you can get," he said. "People have projected fantasies on the limited amount of things that came out between 1991 and 1994 (from Cobain). I have a great degree of confidence the more you get to know him, the more you'll love him."
