Watch the Proposal That Took An Entire Year (and a Few Chart-Topping Songs) to Create

YouTube has made getting the perfect proposal something of a competitive sport -- the flash mobs, the choreography, the special guests -- but this heartfelt idea is going to be a pretty tough act to follow. Dean Smith of Scottsdale, Ariz. decided to propose to his now-fiancee Jennifer on her birthday -- last year. Because he wanted to make the proposal truly memorable, he decided to create a 365-day countdown to the proposal, recording himself asking Jennifer to marry him everyday for an entire year. As he put it in the video, "For the next year, I'll show you how much I love you and that you're in my thoughts every day. I want to marry you."

Home Depot Marriage Proposal, Soundtracked By Betty Who, Goes Viral: Watch

To a soundtrack of Kanye West, Bruno Mars ("Marry You," of course), Pharrell and Anthem Lights, Smith compiled video of himself going about his daily life with a small whiteboard that said variations on "Will you marry me?". Watch the video below for 365 earnest declarations of love and, of course, the big reveal.
