Janelle Monae will take the stage in Albany, New York on March 4 for an education-awareness rally.

The event, hosted by Families for Excellent Schools's Don't Steal Possible, will take place at the State Capitol in front of 9,000 students, teachers and parents.

"It's heartbreaking to know that there are 800,000 New York kids falling through the cracks every year," Monae said in a statement, via Rolling Stone. "I am honored to stand with families demanding an end to this crisis."

Monae isn't the first person to show support for the organization. In the past, Questlove, Estelle and the Beastie Boys' Mike D have all supported Don't Steal Possible. Families for Excellence aims to help students in low-rated schools in New York state.
