Hear Death Cab For Cutie's New Song 'Black Sun' & See Their 2015 Tour Dates

We Are The Rhoads
Death Cab For Cutie

It’s just about as happy as you’d expect a song called “Black Sun” to be…

Two weeks after announcing their new album Kintsugi, Death Cab For Cutie shared the first single from it -- a somber, reflective indie rock song called "Black Sun." They also released the first round of dates for their 2015 North American tour.

"How could something so fair be so cruel / When this black sun revolved around you?" sings Ben Gibbard in this contemplative new song, which sounds par for the course as an album-leading Death Cab track. Kintsugi was completed just before guitarist-producer Chris Walla left the band, so although he won't be accompanying the long-running act going forward, his fingerprints are still all over this music -- the restrained guitar tones, the faint electronic underbelly, the overcast mood.
