Moby apologized for making an "earnest and sycophantic" comment about music supervisors, but contrasted his first meetings with supervisors to "the soulless radio stations" he would visit early in his career. "Twenty years ago, when I first came to L.A., I said to my manager at the time these people actually like music," he said.

One supervisor after another thanked their teams - "none of this happens alone," said PJ Bloom, who won his first GMS Award after multiple nominations -- as well as labels and publishers who work with music supervisors on a daily basis.
"We couldn't do our jobs without the publishers willing to go the extra mile," said Clyde Lieberman, co-winner of the Reality Television trophy for his work on The Voice. "We have found a way to pay them back -- helping records break. One of the biggest thrills every week" is the potential for a new song to reach a new audience.
The Guild also announced that it would hold its first-ever educational conference on Sept. 26 in Los Angeles.
