When the estranged wife of Creed frontman Scott Stapp called 911 last month to report her husband's erratic behavior, one detail stood out: that he was on a mission to kill President Obama.

"He thinks he's part of the CIA. ... He has a bunch of paperwork in his backpack that [says] he's a CIA agent and he was supposed to assassinate Obama," Jaclyn tells the dispatcher during the 40-minute November call, released by TMZ last week.

Whether or not Stapp's wife takes the threat seriously, there's one agency looking into the matter: the president's Secret Service detail. "We are aware and we'll take appropriate action," Secret Service spokesperson Nicole Mainor told People magazine about the call.

Stapp's downward spiral has been in the news since he posted a confessional Facebook video on Nov. 26, in which he revealed that he's been living in his truck and that the IRS had frozen his accounts. On Friday, a judge gave sole custody of the couple's three children to Jaclyn.
