D'Angelo is officially back.

Ahead of a planned Sunday night (Dec. 14) listening session for his long-awaited full-length album, Black Messiah, the R&B singer dropped the funky new single “Sugah Daddy.” The song arrived at midnight on Dec. 14 as part of Red Bull's 20Before15 series.

D'Angelo debuted “Sugah Daddy” during live performances in 2012. It’s the singer’s second studio song since the release of his 2000 album, Voodoo. The other track, "I Found My Smile Again,” accompanied his The Best So Far… in 2008, Rolling Stone reports.

D'Angelo’s listening event for Black Messiah in New York will be hosted by the famous writer Nelson George, who also interviewed the singer in an event earlier this year at the Brooklyn Museum. In conjunction with this announcement, an album teaser hit the internet. Watch it here.
