Death Grips' 'Inanimate Sensation': Hear First Song From Disc 2 of Final Album

Death Grips

Death Grips is dead. Long live 'Jenny Death.'

The amorphous, uncompromising Sacramento squad once and always known as Death Grips has released the first song from the second slab, titled "Jenny Death," of The Powers That B, the upcoming double album that will serve double duty as the group's magnum opus and swan song.

Death Grips Post-Mortem: Better to Slash-and-Burn Out Than Fade Away

"Inanimate Sensation" is as sonically assaultive as anything Death Grips has released -- not counting the entirety of "N---as on the Moon" -- and finds MC Ride going as far-out as ever with his deep-chest poetry: "No rancid level after taste inanimate negate opinion/ As it unravel like enigmatic onion/ Layers of interdimensional dominion." There's love in there too, amidst the pulp, with the song concluding: "I like my iPod more than f---in'."

The first disc from The Powers That B, "N---as on the Moon," was announced and released with no advance notice earlier this year, featuring the unrecognizable vocals of Bjork throughout. The double album, to be released through Harvest and Death Grips' imprint-slash-umbrella Third Worlds, has no set release date, but an unnannounced airdrop of "Jenny Death" may be fast approaching.
