Why Joni Mitchell Nixed Taylor Swift-Starring Biopic

A few years ago, news broke that Taylor Swift was in talks to star as Joni Mitchell in an adaptation of Girls Like Us, a book that focuses on the impact of Mitchell, Carole King and Carly Simon.

Now, fans have learned one of the reasons the project has yet to come to fruition.

"I squelched that," Mitchell told The Sunday Times of the nixed biopic (via NME). "I said to the producer, 'All you've got is a girl with high cheekbones.' It's just a lot of gossip, you don't have the great scenes." Mitchell also noted of the source material, "There's a lot of nonsense about me in books ... assumptions, assumptions, assumptions."

Sounds like a perfect situation for Swift's new mantra.
