Singer/songwriter Jason Mraz has wrapped work on his sophomore album, "Mr. A-Z," which will be released July 26 via Elektra/Atlantic. The Steve Lillywhite-produced set will be led by first single "Wordplay," which is due to impact U.S. radio outlets May 16.

The new release "is my pseudo-self-titled second album," Mraz says. "This time it's all Mraz from beginning to end, the alpha and the omega, from the frontal lobe to the reptilian membrane, the A-Z, thus assigning it the nomenclature it naturally desired and deserved, 'Mr. A-Z.'"

The set is the follow-up to Mraz's 2002 debut, "Waiting for My Rocket To Come," which reached No. 2 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and has sold 914,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Mraz has six shows on his itinerary through May 5 in Minneapolis, after which he will have a month off before beginning his stint as the opening act on Alanis Morissette's summer acoustic tour.
