Which Metal Legend Is Getting the MTV EMAs Global Icon Award?

Keys has been nominated for the new socially focused award category, Best Song with a Message, for her song “We Are Here," a call for an end to violence around the world. Other nominees in the category are "We Exist" from Arcade Fire, which addresses gender identity; “Take Me to Church” from Hozier, which tackles homophobia; Beyonce's “Pretty Hurts,” which examines obsession with appearance; and “All About That Bass” from Meghan Trainor, which talks about self-acceptance and inner beauty.

British rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will be honored with the Global Icon Award. The former honorees are Eminem, who got the MTV Global Icon Award last year, Whitney Houston (2012), Queen (2011) and Bon Jovi (2010).

The MTV EMA will air live on MTV channels around the world from Glasgow's SSE Hydro.
