Brooklyn-via-Australia transplants High Highs, the dream-pop duo of singer/guitarist Jack Milas and keyboardist Oli Chang, started playing together in their hometown of Sydney before Milas took a job in New York and Chang followed him there. But the easy warmth of their home country suffuses their airy guitar lines, reminiscent of the Morning Benders and Real Estate.
Following their debut LP, 2013's Open Season, High Highs released a three-song EP, Ocean to City, earlier this month (independently released on Oct. 7); the title track has been given the music video treatment by Kris Moyes, whose impressive C.V. includes the video for Grizzly Bear's "Gun Shy," Sia's "Clap Your Hands" and Franz Ferdinand's "Ulysses."
