Lorde was photographed on October 8, 2014 at Milk Studios in Los Angeles.

Billboard's recent feature on Lorde revealed that it was the singer's cover of Duffy's "Warwick Avenue" -- played at an Intermediate school talent show when she was 13 years old -- that landed her a development deal at Universal. Now audio has surfaced that's supposedly the singer covering Kings of Leon's "Use Somebody" on New Zealand radio at age 12. Listen to her take on the track below:

Kings of Leon's original is a muscular, slightly hoarse piece of guitar rock that came out at the end of 2008. It hit No. 4 on the Hot 100 and won two Grammys. Lorde's version is spare and acoustic, stripping the original track down to its simplest elements. At the end of the video, the Radio DJ says, "Well, it's a privilege to hear a voice like that."
