Remember when pop music-themed ringtones were all the rage? Sting knows it’s not 2005 anymore, but he did his best to bring it back on Thursday night's episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The former Police frontman was in the mood to play along with Jimmy Fallon, who asked him to sing his own lyrical interpretations to a few classic instrumental ringtones, like “Marimba” and “Xylophone,” which apparently “actually sounds like a Police song.”

After that, Sting was nice enough to record a custom voicemail message for a random guy from the audience. It’s priceless.

Sting was out promoting the new Broadway musical, The Last Ship, which he wrote the score for. The show is set in an English seafaring town and is actually inspired by Sting’s own childhood.
