Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters performs on day 2 at the 2014 Firefly Music Festival on June 20, 2014 in Dover, Delaware.

Courtney Love, Michael Stipe, and Zac Brown were in the crowd.

Dave Grohl sure gets around these days. Foo Fighters are in the middle of a weeklong residency on Late Show With David Letterman, but Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins still found time for some late night covers of rock and roll classics with their famous friends.

At Manhattan’s McKittrick Hotel (site of the famous Sleep No More show), the pair of Foos mingled at a party celebrating a new book from rock photographer Danny Clinch. Clinch and his Tangiers Blues Band performed alongside Grohl, Hawkins, and singer-songwriter Jesse Malin for a cover of Bob Dylan’s “From a Buick 6.” Check out the video below (h/t Rolling Stone):

After that, Perry Farrell and his wife Etta joined for a cover of the Rolling Stones’ “Miss You”:

Earlier Tuesday night, the Foos rocked the Ed Sullivan Theater for an 11-song concert coupled with the New York premiere of their HBO documentary series, Sonic Highways. The docu-series debuts Oct. 17 and the album of the same name hits Nov. 10.

On Monday night the Foo Fighters joined Zac Brown on Letterman for a cover of Black Sabbath’s classic “War Pigs.” With Grohl in town through at least the end of this week, more collaborations surely await.
