Rusty, Granny and Early on the eighth season of "Squidbillies."

King Khan and the Shrines sing the Squidbillies theme song in the latest episode of the show, airing this week. Legends like Dwight Yoakam and Todd Rundgren have already tackled the track; check out King Khan's version below:

Each artist provides a unique take on the theme. Dwight Yoakam made it over as lean, vintage honky tonk, while Todd Rundgren's version was wild and almost operatic. King Khan and the Shrines have a different sound that usually lands somewhere between shiny '60s soul and greasy garage rock. In their capable hands, the Squidbillies theme is hoarse and funky, full of stabbing horns and lurching organ.

Also make sure to watch the behind the scenes clip that shows Khan and co. recording the track, which the band appears to do live -- in the manner of classic soul bands. There's a nice closeup of Khan as he does his best James Brown scream.

Squidbillies airs Sundays on Adult Swim.
