Steadfast at No. 1 on The Billboard Hot 100, the song again holds the title of the chart's greatest airplay gainer.
In a week that finds Carey's latest album, "The Emancipation of Mimi"(Island Def Jam), returning to No. 1 on The Billboard 200, "Together" is also No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs list for a third week. Additionally, it's gaining ground with a 5-4 move on the Hot Ringtones chart, where the Ying Yang Twins' "Wait (The Whisper Song)" is on top for a fourth straight week.
Still hanging on to the Hot 100's No. 2 slot is former chart-topper "Hollaback Girl" by Gwen Stefani, which is also rises 9-5 on the Hot Ringtones list. But the cut is showing signs of erosion elsewhere, yielding pole position on the Hot Digital Tracks chart to the Black Eyed Peas' "Don't Phunk With My Heart."
The big story in the Hot 100's top 10 is the crashing entry of Pretty Ricky's "Grind With Me," which joins the top tier with a 16-8 leap. On the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs tally, "Grind" is growing a bit more slowly, making a 10-9 push this week.
Other notable Hot 100 progressions are made by R. Kelly's "Trapped in the Closet" (43-22), Missy Elliott's "Lose Control" featuring Ciara and Fat Man Scoop (59-30), the Game's "Dreams" (76-50), Bow Wow's "Let Me Hold You" featuring Omarion (73-51), Fantasia's "Free Yourself" (70-55), Faith Hill's "Mississippi Girl" (85-56) and Kanye West's "Diamonds From Sierra Leone" (94-58).
The Hot 100's top debut is Eminem's "Ass Like That," which bows at No. 83. Also new to the chart are Natalie's "Energy" featuring Baby Bash (No. 87) and Daddy Yankee's "Like You" (No. 99). Returning to the list are Lyfe Jennings' "Must Be Nice" (No. 89), White Stripes' "Blue Orchid" (No. 92) and Michael Buble's "Home" (No. 100).
On Billboard's Hot Country Songs roundup, Keith Urban's "Making Memories of Us" is on top for a fourth week, while Kelly Clarkson leads the Adult Contemporary tally for a 15th week with "Breakaway." On the Mainstream Rock chart, Green Day's "Holiday" is on top for its sixth non-consecutive week, while the Modern Rock list finds Nine Inch Nails "The Hand That Feeds" at No. 1 for the fourth week in a row.
On Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart, Juanes resurges and returns to No. 1 with "La Camisa Negra." It's the eighth non-consecutive week at the top for the song, one of three from his latest album, "Mi Sangre" (Surco/Universal Latino), to sit in that post.
