Miley Cyrus Covers Beatles' 'Lucy In the Sky' at Billboard Music Awards

After teaming with the Flaming Lips for a cover of the Beatles’ “Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds” at the 2014 Billboard Music Awards, the pop singer has shared a powerful lo-fi cover of "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You,” the Anne Bredon-penned song made famous by Led Zeppelin.

Cyrus, who shared the gritty recording on Friday (Sept. 12), mostly stays true to Led Zeppelin’s version of the song, but puts her own stamp on it with extra heavy guitar riffs and soaring vocals. Her version sounds like it could’ve been recorded live in her living room, which makes it all that much more raw and impactful.

The song, which Cyrus has renamed "Baby, I'm Gonna Leave You," appeared on Led Zeppelin’s self-titled debut album in 1969. Folk singer Joan Baez also helped popularize the song in the early 1960s.
