The couple kept quiet about the news, without any public announcements but a Facebook post on The David Grohl Alley Scholarship Program's page on Aug. 8. The joy of Grohl's new daughter follows sadness with the death of his father, James Grohl, on Aug. 6 to a longterm illness. US Weekly broke the news Wednesday, nearly two weeks after the fact.

"Bittersweet news - congratulations David Grohl and Jordyn Blum who have welcomed a new baby girl #3 Ophelia Grohl! The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away!!" read the post.
