Nile Rodgers has many more good times ahead…he’s cancer free.

The disco legend revealed he’s received the all-clear on cancer following his latest twice-yearly check-up. He tweeted over the weekend that he’s now 42 months clear of the disease.

Every 6 months I have to get tested for cancer since being attacked. I'm 42 months clear.

Rodgers shared the good news just hours before he hit the stage at Britain’s V Festival, where he played a hits-packed set with his group Chic and at one point joined Sam Smith on stage for a rendition of “Together.”

The 61-year-old guitarist and producer has documented his battle with prostate cancer via his blog. In a post published earlier this year under the title “When cancer was killing me,” Rodgers revealed he was initially diagnosed with “an extremely aggressive form of cancer,” and that music had been a cornerstone to his therapy.

Nile Rodgers To Be Honored With IMS Legends Award

There’s no slowing him down. Rodgers is currently working on Duran Duran’s 14th studio album, which is tentatively due for release in the spring of 2015. Duran Duran's official site mentions both Rodgers and Mark Ronson as "producers.”

Rodgers won three GRAMMY awards earlier in the year for his work on Daft Punk's "Random Access Memories."
