Tour-specific interactive apps are still an emerging trend in the concert space, as they're often costly to produce for such a limited time. However, several artists -- with the help of sponsor partners -- have had success with their own versions, including the Rolling Stones' 50 and Counting app (sponsored by Citi Private Pass), which allowed fans in each city to request their favorite song. The app helped Citi and branding agency MAC Presents take home the top Concert Marketing & Promotion award last fall at the Billboard Touring Awards.
One Direction also debuted a 1D VIP app, as part of its "nearly seven-figure" investment from tour sponsor Nabisco, for 2013's North American tour.
DvsLW is available on Google Play and the Apple app store under "Drake vs Lil Wayne." Amanda White and Jon Gibson of iam8bit added of the app, "Artists don't do this sort of thing for their fans very often, so we think we are out in front of improving the interactive concert and overall experience for the show."
