Singer-songwriter and YouTube star Max Schneider charts on the Billboard Twitter Trending 140 this week after releasing a tour compilation video for his single, “Mug Shot.”  During his “Say Max” tour, Max and his team filmed the crowd in more than 24 cities each singing a different line of the song.

In turn, Schneider’s fans reacted by sharing screen shots of themselves in the video.

“Mug Shot” debuted on the chart on Aug. 5 at 9 AM at No. 4, peaking at No. 2. The song remained on the chart for five consecutive hours. The track was originally released Feb. 24 on Schneider’s EP Say Max, (released through Crush Music).

Schneider has been gathering a fan base on YouTube well before the release of his EP. The young performer who has 801,495 subscribers to his name helped build buzz by releasing cover videos with fellow YouTube star (and his brother), Kurt Schneider (4,416,112 subscribers). Together, the Schneider brothers have released covers of songs by major artists like Ariana Grande, Zedd and Bruno Mars that have anywhere between one and 16 million views apiece. They also frequently collaborate with actress/singer Victoria Justice.

On Aug. 3, Schneider released a new single and music video covering 5 Seconds of Summer's “She Looks So Perfect.” In addition to his tour, the singer has been consistently releasing singles throughout the year, including “Young Volcanoes” (March 10) and “New York State of Mind,” featuring Phony Ppl (July 30). Schneider has also played a supporting role in the indie film “Love & Mercy," alongside John Cusack and Elizabeth Banks.
