New Traveling Festival Will Bring Bass Music to 20 Cities This Fall (Exclusive)

The Hudson Project
Excision performs a‪t the 2014 Hudson Music Project Festival on Winston Farm in Saugerties, New York on Friday,  July 11.‬

Safe In Sound Festival caters to bass heads across America.

A new music festival geared toward fans of electronic bass music, a heavy sub-genre under the EDM umbrella, will travel to 20 U.S. cities this September and October. Called Safe in Sound, it will feature Adventure Club, Flux Pavilion, Zeds Dead and Excision, among others, in varying line-ups by date.

One of the festival organizers' top priorities is ensuring fans don't have to endure a blown speaker. The event has partnered with PK Sound, a Canadian production company that supplies tour soundsystems for Skrillex, Excision, and the Shambhala Music Festival. It will also debut a new 150,000 watt rig during the tour, which will be the most "powerful touring sound system" ever used in dance music, according to a release.

Excision, a DJ and producer from British Columbia (real name: Jeff Abel), expressed excitement over the new system: “Knowing this is the first ever touring bass music festival of this caliber and the first time my PK family unleashes their brand new sound system, people are going to lose their sh*t!”

Abel’s side-project, a bass music supergroup called Destroid, is included the lineup. It consists of Excision, Downlink and KJ Sawka, and formed in 2012.

Safe In Sound, produced by Synergy Global Entertainment, was named after the sub-genre’s community of close-knit, sound-obsessed fans. Other partners include Rockstar Energy Drink and PETA’s youth division, Peta2. The full list of and tour dates is below (subject to change).
