The death hoax started with a click-grabbing scam on Facebook that read, "(SHOCKING) Miley Cyrus Found Dead in Her Los Angeles Home! Country singer Miley Cyrus found overdosed this afternoon in her Los Angeles home."
You'd think "country singer" would have been enough of a tip that whoever wrote this had no idea what they were talking about -- she only retains a slight country twang from her daddy Billy Cyrus -- but viral news needs no truth to spread.
Fortunately, Cyrus herself put the rumors to rest when she returned to Instagram, uploading a slew of pics, including one where she goes topless in the desert. But unlike Gaga, Miley's not ready to #FreeTheNipple just yet: She turned her back to the camera, unlike the more revealing Instagram shot she shared earlier this year.
Regardless, it's good to see Miley Cyrus is alive and still can't be tamed.
