The young headbangers have already played the main stage at Coachella and opened for Guns N' Roses
Brooklyn-based tween rock band Unlocking the Truth has reportedly signed a seven-figure album deal with Sony.
Unlocking the Truth — comprising 13-year-old guitarist Malcolm Brickhouse, bassist Alec Atkins (13) and drummer Jarad Dawkin (12) — made their stage debut competing on Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater in 2012 and later began performing in Times Square. They became the youngest band to play Coachella’s main stage earlier this year and have opened for Guns N’ Roses in Las Vegas.
Unlocking the Truth’s manager, Alan Sacks, told the New York Post that an executive from Sony called him after seeing an online video of the band performing in Times Square. The call resulted in a $1.8 million deal for five albums.
