The Gaslight Anthem Sets Summer Release Date For Fifth Album ‘Get Hurt’

New Jersey rock band the Gaslight Anthem has announced that its fifth album, “Get Hurt,” will be released on Aug. 19 through Island Records.

The Gaslight Anthem Readies First Major-Label Debut

The new set follows the group’s 2012 major-label debut, “Handwritten,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and has sold 121,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album also reached No. 1 on Alternative Albums and generated the the No. 15 hit single "45" on the Hot Rock Songs chart.

“Get Hurt” was recorded at Blackbird Studios in Nashville with producer Mike Crossey, who has worked with such bands as the 1975, Arctic Monkeys and Jake Bugg. The Gaslight Anthem teased the new album with a promo clip (above) that features the new song "Stay Vicious.”

The Gaslight Anthem will support “Get Hurt” with a North American tour, beginning Sept. 10 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. The band is currently scheduled to visit clubs and theaters through October, with more dates to be announced.
