Metallica's Lars Ulrich Accepts Will Ferrell and RHCP Drummer Chad Smith's Call for a Drum-Off

Prepare yourself for the next great drum-off!

Lars Ulrich, of Metallica, has accepted the challenge from Will Ferrell and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer, Chad Smith, to participate in a doppelganger drum battle. This past May, Ferrell and Smith stopped by “The Tonight Show” for a battle of their own, all for charity.

For years, fans have noted the similarity in looks between Ferrell and Smith and it all came to a head last month on ‘Tonight.” Now, the duo is challenging Ulrich to enter the ring.

“Lars gets pissed because he gets mistaken for both me and Chad Smith,” Ferrell said on Tuesday, in a statement to Spin. “The gauntlet is down.”

Yesterday, Ulrich sent a statement to Spin, accepting the challenge.

“It was a little lonely on the sidelines during the first drum-off,” Ulrich wrote. “I’m definitely up for the challenge…bring it on!”

No word on when or where it will happen, but the event promises to be both exhilarating and hilarious.
