Wilco's Jeff Tweedy Announces Tour, Debut Solo Album
Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy has announced a string of solo tour dates starting in June at the Masonic Temple in Detroit and brining him to Rhode Island’s Newport Folk Festival in late-July. The tour news came with word he has been working on a debut solo album that will be released soon.
There are no more details on the album just yet but the fans should expect a preview of those songs from his upcoming live sets. Tweedy will be accompanied by a new backing band for the tour, including his son Spencer Tweedy on drums, guitarist Jim Elkington, bassist Darin Gray and keyboardist Liam Cunningham.
Tweedy has fronted Wilco since 1995. Before then, from 1987-1994, he was part of the alt-country trio Uncle Tupelo.
