Mike Bruno has been named Billboard’s VP of digital content and programming, and Shirley Halperin the publication’s music editor. The announcement was made jointly by Janice Min, Billboard Entertainment Group’s co-president/chief creative officer; co-president John Amato; and executive VP of marketing and brand development Dana Miller.
Bruno joins Billboard after seven years at Entertainment Weekly. His resume includes stints at Citysearch, music editing at a digital startup, freelance writing for the NY Press, Chicago Reader and several EDM magazines. He began at EW.com as the news editor before rising to assistant managing editor for digital. Bruno holds a master’s graduate of University of Missouri's J-school.
Bruno will be report to Dan Strauss, who in the same announcement was named GM of digital for The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard.
