Jay-Z & Beyonce lead our 3rd annual tally of the music industry's most powerful players
What is power? At its base, it’s the ability to reshape the world around you according to your vision. And no one in the music industry did so with more verve than Jay-Z and Beyonce, the dynamic husband-and-wife duo that leads our annual Power 100 ranking. But this year's list-toppers weren't the only ones exerting a powerful influence on the music business, and popular culture at large.
Take our top five: Universal Music Group's Lucian Grange (No. 2) is the head of the largest music company in the world; Red Light Management's Coran Capshaw (No. 3) shunned the spotlight while quietly building a diversified empire; Michael Rapino (No. 4) leads Live Nation Entertainment, the most powerful live entertainment company that has ever existed; and Martin Bandier (No. 5) runs the largest music catalog, Sony/ATV Music Publishing.
